1969 Black Jade

The 1969-70 Shelby door data plate for Black Jade cars  reads  C3 for the color code.
All auto body supply shops I've been to can only supply color code  C  Dark Ivy Green Metallic. (which I think is a 1970 Mustang color)

For a concours Black Jade car  is this color custom mixed/tinted to get the correct shade or or is a color sensing gun used?
Do any of the major paint manufacturers produce a correct Black Jade?

This is the first I have heard of a issue not being able to get Black Jade. It may be a recent development because in the past it hasn't been a issue.

Image of same... all the columns are the same, just name difference for the model car?

I think you might want to recheck that. That may be part of the issue. The warranty color code is just "C"

It is a standard Ford color during 1969. It was called "Dark Ivy Green Metallic" on Mercury and Lincolns, but Ford called it Black Jade Metallic on Mustangs. Same color on different car lines.

Just to make it extra confusing, different paint suppliers gave it different names as well. Black Jade Iridescent or Black Jade Poly are examples of other names.

Using the Ford code "M-3197-A" may be your best starting point.

Maybe a typo as FB door tags have a 5 after the color(C5?) unless it is special paint then just the 5. A few verts got the 5 also for some unknown reason.

The suffix "5" is for a (blackout) hood treatment not used on any Shelbys. While it does appear on warranty tags, in this case, it is meaningless.

If someone is confused about the actual warranty codes, it's unlikely they will be able to find the correct paint mixing codes.

Its not easy to come the correct answers given the complexity of the codes, formulas, names and brands.

^^^ and that is why folks LOVE the SAAC forum (correct answer noted above). Kinda crazy about the different "names"/confusion with the same color
