Why would that be?

If someone took your property, thats a police case.

You are obviously leaving out some important information in this story

If you need advice on how to get the police interested, heres a suggestion

Go to his house with a gun, the police will take an interest real fast

In our area, property crime is dealt with by your insurance company. Period. Police involvement is handled over the phone or online and results in a case # to facilitate your insurance claim.

Maybe not take a gun there. You will probably become the target. (I get it tho)  But there may be a way for them to respond to a loud disagreement??

Police NO Help

Agreed current law enforcement stance is lax and flaccid.  Due to current national circumstances.

Hire two guys to take Bats over there to Kneecap the Guy and tell him that he took some things that was not his and he has 5 Days to "Make Things Right" or else.

^^^ this.

Or a variation, 2 fresh off the plane Russian "enforcers". All they've got to do is stare at him and he'll soil himself. He will return the parts gift wrapped, and immediately.

File a theft report with police and tell them it is for insurance company files. They might be too lazy to file a report,in which case call your insurance company (you have insurance, right? ) and declare top retail value. Don't go to jail over it,but be persistant with law enforcement. This is a different time than many of us lived through in the 60's. You may end up with settlement from insurance.

Sorry, I am not buying the police wont help. I have literally witnessed police take theft reports for a can of soda.

Something doesn't add up. The original poster complained months ago and still hasn't figured this out? He knows the person that stole his property?

Self reporting property crimes over a $1000? Maybe, but highly unlikely.

Probably best if you dont handle a gun. Might be too dangerous for you.

If you disagree with the police that your situation is a civil matter, there are numerous avenues you could pursue regarding your dissatisfaction with their decision. (As an example, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has a link regarding how to make a complaint against an officer on their web page)  Another option is to file a private criminal complaint (A private party can request a summons be issued in N. Carolina under G.S. 15A-304)  Beyond that your next option is filing a civil suit.  That can usually be done with or without an attorney.

As just stated the District Attorney refused to file charges I paid a Lawyer  to look into it but going no where .

I'm sorry, I misunderstood.  I thought the DA had refused charges on the Z06 allegations, not on the stolen Shelby parts allegation as well.
