Since I can't post a question in the For Sale section of the Classifieds...... is the 1966 GT-350 6S2389 continuation convertible listed for sale the same car sold last spring on BaT ?   I can't seem to find it....... THX

I guess they deleted the A/C because of the Paxton and added a Full Console.

Assuming it is in the Registry, is this based on the entry ?    If so what else does the Registry say ?

Thank You.

What is confusing to me is the BaT auction it sold last May but the description says current owner has owned since 2012. Which is it? Fake sale? current owner has had it less than a year? Gary

Like I said, I'm guessing because the Order Form say it has A/C and the A/C Compressor sits where the Super Charge is mounted.

Gary,

Yeah something smells fishy here...... looks like the owner had it bid up on BaT, paid them their selling fee and it didn't go anywhere.

Do these sort of shenanigans go on BaT, eBay, Barrett Jackson, Mecum, Russo Steele, Gooding's, Bonhams......... every auction ever held?

I am appalled and and aghast!  :P

You are dealing with used car salesmen. The bigger the outfit, the higher up the ladder they are and the fancier the bs is.

Actually "Carnival Barkers" is closer to the fact.

At the end of the day, all the owner/bidder/buyer/owner has done is market price his car to $131,000........and it needed help to get there.

Watching an episode of Chasing Classic Cars Wayne was at an auction(believe it was one at Pebble Beach). The bidding of a car went up and up and hammered at no sale. Wayne then said there appeared to be no bidders in the room and the house has the right to bid a car up to it's reserve. First I ever heard someone say that in public. I knew it went on. Gary

Doesn't it say that right in the contract you sign when you buy or sell at an auction.  The house has the right to bid up a car.

Happens all the time.  Hell, Barrett Jackson was even broadcasting live footage of Reggie Jackson bidding up his very own cars that he was selling a few years ago during one of their auctions.

As a seller that's just fine but as a buyer.......well, buyer beware.

I also thought it quite interesting that another member, who just so happens to ' not know, or have a relationship ' to the seller or car , just happens to offer his PPI service because they live in the same area code, and posts on a no-reply For Sale ad.

Something else that makes you go hhhmmmmm.
