I have three Hertz car plates that I am attempting to associate with the VINs.

The plates are (California):

SKV 957 - Black
SRK 334 - Green
SVS 723 - Black

Can anyone help out with these?

I may have furnished this info on the lost forum but will offer it again:
6S1467 was purchased in December 1966 and was issued TVZ059.  I have the registration slip but sure wish I had the original plates.

I did not have the information for 6S1467, but it is now recorded.

California is now reissuing the black plates, but I doubt that you would want to register your car in CA just to get plates. I am pretty sure that there are places that can create plates very similar for show only. Even a plastic insert would work.

     When i bought 6S240 in '72 , the plate  was UAM692 , a much later plate than was original issue in '66 when it first sold.

My late 65 5S426 was sent to Hayward and still has the original RKA plates. The original owner purchased the car from Concord Ford in late 65. Have some pictures of the car when it is a few month old.

6S2170 was assigned California plate SPY 885.

I have added 6S240 as receiving California plate UAM692. According to the Registry other 1966 cars received the U series plates.

I cannot see any reason that DMV would have replaced the plates from 1966 to 1972.

Unless some additional information comes along, I assume the plate to be the first issued to that car.

427 – I do not have a record for your car. Can you get the information for me?
557 – I have your plate number recorded.
PaulD – I have your plate number recorded.
