Sunday drive with a twist

On my early morning Sunday drive I decided to stop off again at White Cemetery on Cuba Road, purported to be the most haunted cemetery in the US. That 15 minute diversion proved interesting to me because on my usual route back there was a horrendous car accident that had happened in what seemed like 15 to 20 minutes before. It makes me wonder if my macabre diversion to the haunted cemetery unwittingly allowed me to avoid this entanglement. Being at the old cemetery, depressing as it was, reminded me of how great it is to still be alive. Motor-vate yourselves, gentlemen.

Best,

Richard E.

I personally don't "believe" in coincidence. Something else is going on. Too many things have happened or didn't happen to me that shouldn't have.

The question to me is it it our own intuition subconsciously, i.e., we are creating it or controlling it  or is it something else controlling the outcome? I'm leaning to it's our own selves controlling the outcome?

Of course this doesn't eliminate the possibility that there is somehow a universal "cloud", i.e., a for lack of a better term, computer, that we and all living things can tap into. Think of Einstein playing his violin or "the monks" meditating or even a cat knowing how to take care of her kittens?

How do we instinctively know how to do things? Are we simply reading off of a script like a computer does and we simply have an infinite amount of scripts to combine for varying outcomes? Even so, where do the scripts come from?

Is this all full of contradictions? You bet. That's part of the game.

Profound thoughts, Shelbydoug.  It is very interesting to me to think about such things.

So many concepts fit into the "cloud" thing. Sometimes though, if you "think" about it too much, you will be afraid to get out of bed, then just wind up with a migraine like I do?

How did I wind up with all of these silly white cars with blue stripes? Why not red stripes?

I prefer to think of it all like I have some sort of control over it rather then just a rat in a maze but maybe I'm just comforting myself?

In my case, I'm concerned with this list of people who have given me crap and have wound up no longer living (by our definition). I want to know if I have some control over these "Praetorian Guards" or if they are just some of Morbious' "monsters from the id" with a mindless primitive in control?

Something to consider. You might want to keep me at a distance?  ;D

I don't know why I would want to keep you at a distance. You are a deep thinker. I covet those types of people to exchange ideas.

We are all just along for the ride. We can take the steering wheel for awhile but in the end our destination is preordained.

My deep thought ever since I saw my first picture of an atom was thinking about what if our solar system is just an atom floating around in some larger object and their scientists are looking at us.

More deep and profound thoughts.

Whatever or whomever created it is a genius.

The thought of how it all came about must be simple. It has to be that the nature of nothing is to become something.

That experiment was attempted a few years ago in a lab and seemed to prove itself out.

What we have difficulty in conceiving of is the concept of time. Time is limitless and 10.8 billion years doesn't even make a mark on the face of times clock.

IF you accept the realm of limitless time, then all is possible and has happened before.

I accept the concept because it lets me fits my other concepts within but the difficultly in conceiving the idea of time curving back on itself as if it is the surface of a ball shows that I have the limits of human imagination?

What if it isn't a ball but the surface of a round wheel? Are they 10 spokes or Magstars? ::)  ...14" or 15'?

As a further addendum, I wondered what spared me and not them in an early Sunday morning crash. I pick early Sunday mornings to pilot the Hertz simply to avoid such mishaps, go figure. It was bad. The whole driver's side of one car was demolished and unrecognizable. And on a further note before I go outside and wax my dad's 2013 302 LS (which happens to be under my care, custody and control lol), as I was walking among the headstones I wondered how much any of them would trade their spot for me today even if for just for 24 hours. I saw one headstone where the girl died at 10 years of age. A long long time ago.  What the hell? I don't know why I picked today to go in there and look around. Weird.

Cheers gentlemen, live your lives the best way you can. And write about your lives on paper for your descendants to read. They will want to know you 100, 200 years from now have no doubt.

I suspect that in 200 years they will wonder what the fascination with cars was all about? In your case, what the significance of gold stripes was? ;)

Doug, I bet they'll wonder that in 20 years.  Or 10, or...

I enjoyed reading the exchange. These kinds of topics are fascinating.

Within 10 years they will be wondering about a 3rd pedal and lever between the seats. Lincoln started using pushbutton shift on some cars in 2015. Push the button and go - or select S(port) and use the paddle shifter if you think you're better than the computer.
By 3035 they will all be 1 speed controlled by a rheostat.

Welcome to my domain.  ;D I'm not sure that I would use the word, believe, I prefer the term, suspect.

I don't mind being a dinosaur. Perhaps future archeologists will just be memorized by our entire scenario?

I have a "friend" who asked me if I see the "shadow people too?" You know, those things that you see in a very blurry shadowy way out of the corner of your eye.

Now I'm thinking that it is just the normal "dysfunction" of the eye mechanism. Expecting a reply, I thought about it and just told him "that I know what they are, but if I tell you, it will upset you."

Don't you think that he pressed me for the "answer"? Sure did.

Here it is. "They are us, you, coming back (in time) to look at us, i.e., observe us, when we/you were alive and 'of the passions of the flesh' ". He hasn't bothered me since.  8)

Hey, look. People question me about "Shelbys". I tell them that it's difficult to explain if you don't see it right away. "It's a spiritual thing". Are YOU sure you want to mess with me?

Probably about 55 years ago or so I wondered if we were just somebody's dream and when they woke up we would all disappear.. I think my property is also haunted because I have a rubber mat outside the door of the garage man cave that keeps moving to the side about 4" a week. I keep putting it back to the centre and it keeps moving. I also have a cloth one with a Cobra on it that I put in front of The master bathroom toilet and it keeps moving to the side slowly also. I can't even move it when I put my feet down and try to move it to the side.  Makes you really wonder about things🤔
