The Italic type means this was a Ford Running Change and therefore Shelby got what was made at San Jose and delivered to Shelby American.

OIL FILTER & BREATHER CAPS

There are numerous variations on this but here are the most common, to the best of the evidence we have so far. The GT350 valve cover open emissions (non-thermactor), early style oil filler was chrome with FoMoCo in script in the oval. Later versions were chrome and stamped Autolite. The GT350 valve cover thermactor equipped oil filler cap was the closed emissions style, as seen on '65-'66 GT350s, typically chrome but with FoMoCo in script block letters inside the oval rectangle. The GT500 open emissions (non-thermactor) valve cover oil filler was black or chrome, marked FoMoCo in "block" letters inside the rectangle. Later on in production, they were chrome or black and marked Autolite. The GT500 valve cover thermactor equipped engine used a closed style (short in height when compared to the other style) cap and is referred to as "Cookie Cutter" style because of the edges of the cap; they are chrome and marked Autolite. The GT500 intake oil filler tube, cap is a small diameter push-on style (like the GT350 open style valve cover cap), chrome or black, with FoMoCo in script in the oval, or later Autolite. The GT500 thermactor intake oil filler cap is chrome or black with FoMoCo in script in the oval or later on, Autolite. The other much less typical early cap is black or chrome open style, like the '65-'66 GT350 valve cover oil cap.

The highlighted explanation needs to be updated to - "The GT350 valve cover thermactor equipped oil filler cap was the closed emission style, as seen on '65-'66 GT350s, typically chrome but with FoMoCo in block letters inside the rectangle." With that said the reason is that most thermactor equipped 67 GT350's were later production cars and the typical cap trademark had evolved to the FOMOCO in the rectangle

Also, what about the un-marked "cookie cutter caps" usage?  If we are making amendments.  Also the redundancy of the GT500 intake oil fill cap being the same for thermactor and non thermactor, according to the two sentences about them.

I am ok with the redundancy because otherwise there will always be that person who wants to confirm if it is not in writing. Don't ask me why the open emission cap was used with thermactor system oil fill tube. As spec Ed says "that's just the way it is".  The unmarked cookie cutter cap is much more typical compared to the Autolite version. I am skeptical that the Autolite version was used at all originally on 67 GT500 but not sure so I always give the benefit of the doubt when the issue comes up in concours judging.
