This licensing silliness has another dark side.  With all the auction frenzy over Shelby toys and wanna-bees, will the real Shelby  Registry need to stand up?  Saying a vehicle is in a registry which has no public access other than to verify a licensed product is too limiting.  Many who are familiar with the SAAC Registries, which are available to the public,  know of the intense research that is not available on the other World registry.  It certainly can give a strong false impression, especially since new licensing of these reproductions emphasizes the statement about being in a registry.

Will they weld up the rear quarter scoop for the 69 Boss 302??  Was that a solid one piece fender in 1969 for the Boss 302 cast without the hole for the scoop?

"Defaming" could be the complaint. If they know your name, that could be a problem.

Simply put, they don't care what you think. Let them make their own claims and the public in general continue to question exactly where they can buy a copy of their "Registry".

Be an educated buyer. You can't be sued for that.

So I'll have a 65-68 BOSSxyz or a MACH1?  And it's 'official' since Ford sold them the rights to use its name and a company that used to make continuation Cobras is gonna make it authentic by registering an old VIN has now been refreshed with badass new technology.  That's ALMOST seems reasonable.

But to put on old VIN on a new (or old) body shell I thought was a crime.
Is if not? 

Or is it merely pulling the wool over a buyers eyes if you can make him think that a Dynacorn body with a 'T' code VIN & a 'G' code engine makes its a BOSS 302?

My question for those who believe in this "Shelby World Registry", is long term validation.  The SWR is an unpublished, privately held  data base by Shelby Licensing that will only verify a VIN belonging to a vehicle authorized by Shelby Licensing.  It is not a published data base like that SAAC registry for verification.

Therefore, if years down the road, the Shelby related industies )LIcensing, Foundation, Shelby American, etc.) cease to exist, there goes the data base SWR with them, I would presume.

Why doesn't Ford just set up a program so if you decide to purchase a set of officially licensed 1970 Boss 302 "Hockey Stripe"  decals for $80K we will register your 1970 fastback as an officially licensed Boss 302! That's basically all they are doing-

It looks obviously like a restomod. I'm not sure why Ford just didn't call it the Boss 546. That way you don't sh%$ on the heritage and it's clear its a newer version of the old. Call it what it is- Just don't go there with the 429 engine option.

I doubt they would sue. All one would have to do is subpeona the records and they would fold. No way they want people seeing they have built over 100,000 "rare collectible" cars since the SVT Mustang was rebadged as a GT500.
