1969 - 70 Shelby interior and paint color questions

Over the years a few 1970 Shelby fastbacks have appeared with a red interior, but I've never seen a 1969 with a red interior.
-Were any made?

The red interior seem to be limited to specific colors such as white, red, and maybe pastel gray
-Were there any other paint colors that had it?

-Were there any Shelby convertibles produced with red interiors?
(My guess is no, since I've never seen or heard of any)

Thank you Pete!

Of course that make sense as the '70s were left overs and re-tagged.
I just was wondering if the red interiors were a later run that ended up as left overs.

I was able to confirm there were no red interiors in convertibles!

That leaves my last question...which paint colors on 69/70 Shelby's got the red interiors?

You could order any color exterior with a red interior but there were "recommended" combinations just like there were for Mustangs. So you can run across Mustangs with red interiors and green or blue exteriors for example.

Now for what was ordered and or built you will need a break down from the records and I'm not aware that anyone has cared enough to make a list or order the answer from Kevin Marti

I think Vin knows

He told me no yellow and red interior

I dont think you'll find grabber green either

But I guess we would have to look at the whole pallet

A quick search of some Marti reports (sales ads) and it appears there were no Special Paint cars with a red interior.
The numbers built for both the white and the black interior cars combined are a match to the total built.

Hmmm, no red/red?

Oh there were :) but I think he's referring to, in his last post, only Special Order paint Shelby examples

Yes only special paint colors.

Marti seems to change how he reports 'Special Paint' cars over the years. Earlier reports only list the total sum of all the special paint colors.
His later reports appear to give a breakdown by color. I have not found any Comp Red report breakdowns, yet.

Last I heard, he wants a hefty $100+ per hour for any research work. I'm not inclined to line his pockets for that.

Must be referring to Shelby's only since he doesn't know what color the vast majority of special paint other Ford models were. Likely a cross reference to what he has gotten from other sources

Yes, these were specifically Shelby reports for 1969

The change in the reports from ALL Special Paint numbers to individual 'Special Paint' colors appears to happen...

after 2010 and before 2017.

Thanks Mike,
I would think the red interior registry is relevant to the 69-70 conversation here but might be dated from the distant past.
The letter you posted appears in an older auction by GAA Classcis, showing a white '69 GT500 FB (no Marti report shown)
https://www.gaaclassiccars.com/vehicles/25064/1969-shelby-gt500

Some of the other letters in the auction listing note Vinman as the registrar. Tony could be a SAAC member, but maybe not on the forum.
There is no email address in the letter for the red interior registry, suggesting to me this is a older letter.

Further digging and review of the Ford records (Marti reports) suggest the red is a very rare color interior with only a few dozen produced over the 2 years. It also appear that only white, pastel gray, and candy apple red were the paint colors that offered that interior color on a Shelby.
