Ouch, that's not a very charitable number. I wonder if the sellers name is Benjamin Dover. Maybe goes by Ben?

Seller has another set of paperwork for a 1967 for the same price

98SVT - was 06GT

It won't really add anything to the car value so no I wouldn't buy it.

Sometime the registrar has copies of the invoices.

Im trying to figure out the reasoning for that exact asking price. Why not just round it off to $1200 ?

There's an option to drop buy it now auction prices by a percentage... might explain it.

LOL, I paid the late Lois Eminger 25 or 30 bucks for mine along with the pink order sheet. She made copies of the originals when she sold the original(bought numerous invoices off of her and she was local). Kevin Marti can sell a copy of the original(assume he would have it) for a LOTTTTT less. Usually the pink order form is with this copy. They are attached by a 4 digit number. Mine is 4102 found on both sheets.  Gary

Thats an  original 70 shelby window sticker and very rare and john b. has an interesting story on how he found it. Remember all the 70 shelby paperwork was changed over from the 69 paperwork. The original window sticker is the rarest and hardest to find paperwork on any car as it was usually damaged when removed from car so yes it adds value to any car.

Two things that this thread has brought to me.

First and foremost, Provenance anything paperwork that is original to your car adds provenanc to your car and that adds value in my opinion. Surely you must admit that when you sit in your chair at some event be it weekend show, MCACN, a potential sale information exchange this would be a trump card  for a same to same car. Now is it worth $1,173.00. to you? Everything has a price to a person. Some would think Wow that is cheap! I'll buy it." Where as some might say "King's ransom for that old paper. No way." The fact of the matter is that piece of paper if real was actually there, even if you were not born yet.

The second thing was Tasca Ford, 777 Taunton Ave, E.Providence Rhode Island 02914 is now "Scott Volkswagen" that has probably been the case for a really long time. However Tasca Ford is a mecca that was on my list, visit Jay Cushman, drive to Tasca.......my wife would never let me live that down, ever.

What i posted is an invoice for a 70. Yeah, I'll agree a real original window sticker is much more valuable than invoices and one reason is that invoices are available. Window stickers are extremely rare. A Window or tank sticker is much more valuable say on a 435HP L71 67 Vette for obvious reasons(I'd say 5K plus) these Shelbys are so documented you don't need a window sticker to prove what it is. It is a crowning piece of literature for the car it was originally installed on. Good luck on your sale. Gary

FYI John Barnes (ebay name miamiviceshelby ) is the seller of the literature and not John Slack who posted on this thread.

As the current owner of John's 1968 GT350 and after many conversations with him I would agree with Special Ed that John surely has an interesting story about how he found it. He has tons of interesting stories! He should digitally record them and sell 'em on eBay!
