Many more errors . I didn't try to keep count . I suppose it is entertaining for one reason or another.  The problem would be for the viewer trying to be informed is knowing which facts were correct and which facts incorrect. The items that were incorrect that weren't even mentioned consequently a viewer might conclude that they were historically correct. I hate to think about a well intentioned restorer or owner changing a correct thing because of one of the incorrect things perceived as correct. He gave it a good try.

Especially since the whole time he's touting it as "numbers matching". Have my doubts it's even the original engine given the comment about the VIN being stamped behind the motor mount. I'd not seen or heard of that before, has anyone? Also, the engine assembly date is March 9, 1966, according to the Registry the radio was installed at HP Motors on March 29, which seems a very tight window.

Seen the car and video before. Sold on BAT. I agree the engine number looks off. It starts with a 66

Believe you will find that he just misspoke in this case. He stated that "behind" when he was looking in front of the motor mount. One of the issues and challenges of putting things in print or in a video is that you can pick out mistakes after they are released. Tons of people will watch and take notes while when they first see it so your corrections or attempts to correct often go unseen my most

Plenty of things to see and comment on but he covered allot in a short period of time. Would have at least spent 60 second identifying and mentioning the C4 and why it was/is special or even the original shocks in front rather than a couple of other details

The 2 66s in front is incorrect of course.
However, I've seen a lifetime full of mistakes like this.
It's very possible it was done at the factory.

To me it looks like he is actually looking behind the mount, and you can see one of the freeze plug bore edges just above the VIN stamp. Had just not heard of the VIN being stamped there before.

Not to criticize this car or video, but more curious about the engine assembly date stamp in general. Is it possibly for an engine assembled on March 9 to be installed in a car at San Jose and be completed at SAI 10-11 days later?

Just to show the section of the video where where he was searching and at the same time stating "behind" the motor mount. Drivers side motor mount is pointed out in both pictures. Oil pan and strut rod mounts are also in the pictures for other landmarks


deathsled  - Thanks for the link. Not a car I had pictures of having Dennis provide some dates helped out to for my collection. One fender date was a bit odd but believe it is still likely original NOTHING to wave a warning flag for just out of  an expected/predicted sequence a bit

Yes its very very unusual IMO but possible and do have examples from other years (still San Jose) where we have real completion dates to help us. Sure sorry we don't have the same for early cars.

You're welcome Mr. Speegle.  Still wondering how you did the stills on the video and transferred them to this thread.  That was a neat trick.  Maybe you paused the video and took a picture with your phone?  Interesting nonetheless.  I spend maybe too much time on YouTube digging up such artifacts.  No life, I suppose.
