Was checking out some boxes of stuff and came upon the first picture I have of my car in Dec 1971 right after I purchased it.
I also looked at the picture I took a few weeks ago when I showed it at the AACA Fall Meet in Hershey where it received its AACA First Place Junior Award.
So many memories in its 242,000 mile journey
Owned since 1971, NOW DRIVEN OVER 250,000 MILES, makes me smile every time I drive it and it makes me feel 21 again.😎

Some where some one is driving their collector car for the last time but they don't know it . Drive your car every time like it could be the last memory of it .

Congratulations Steve.  That is truly awesome.  Could you take the car to the exact spot you took the picture in 71?

Yes, but that field is now full of trees about 30 feet tall. Its at the end the street where my parents live where we used to play football and other stuff. it was sold and the owner has let it go back to woods

Liking the mathematical breakdown.  Very clever.

Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

This will make you guys think about money, I paid $1,000 for it, drove it for almost 20 years as a daily, then weekend driver. The total cost of the owner done restoration adding all the receipts is a little over $22,500, includes new tires, paint, and glass installation

Better than the stock market (in most instances).  Plus you had fun driving it along with the pride of ownership.  A stock? Not so much.

It's not the $ it's the fun and memories. My dad was doing a lot of traveling for work in 1966. Every time we'd drop him off at LAX we'd pass Hertz and I'd beg him to rent a GT350 for a day so I could drive it  - they had a 25 year old rule and so did my dad. In 1975 I bought 843 and I was 25.

Great milestone, Steve.  Its going to take me eight more years to say that mine has been family owned for 50 years, so I don't think I'll ever be able to say that I've owned it myself for 50 years.  Now the '67 will hit the 50 year mark in another seven.  But you owning yours for 50, that's a real achievement!  May you enjoy it for another 50!
