Just a polite question:   Why not an aluminum body?   Yes, more $$$$, but also a significantly more correct replica.

A very good question... a fun car that was affordable and was easily converted trumped correctness. Lead time and acquisition cost was a big factor in the decision.
We wanted to present a desirable replica in a timely fashion, to kickstart some fund-raising for 2022... this fit the bill.

If this sweepstakes is a success.... maybe 2023 presents a raising of the bar... thanks!

Maybe the winning ticket should be drawn at the next Convention .. 🤔

We thought of that....
Normally, these type of sweepstakes run for a full year. With the convention in early Summer, that does give it a chance to run its course.

We decided to compromise with a Fall drawing date

Hate to hijack the thread but is there something we should know :-)?     Should a SAAC47 thread be started?

This will be great for the club.  I am also a member of BMWCCA and they do multiple car raffles each year.  It helps keep the club funded well to serve the membership.  SAAC may not have to worry so much in the future about having to share the cost of track reservations with other organizations and that sort of thing.

Is SAAC going to have a special section of the registry for fake Cobra raffle cars now?
