Good news that it was recovered before being completely stripped. A special place in hell for anyone who would do this to such a gorgeous car!

Chris,

A quick search here will show you that this car has been covered already:

No need for another thread on this replica, is there?

Now go stand in the corner with your dunce hat on.

Personally Bill, the guy is new and I think your last comment was uncalled for.

My God, give the guy a break. Maybe he had a bad day at work, or something of that nature.

"New" members are coming here and starting a thread just for some on here (you know who you are) to BLAST someone and make negative comments.

Funny, we used to do exactly that at work when someone screwed up our testing environment, but HR told us we weren't allowed to do it anymore... ;)

Thanks for the kind words. I'm "new"-ish to this group, in that I don't post very often, but am certainly aware that it is not the most welcoming place on the planet (I've had my KR for over 20 years, and the same online personalities still play out...). I'm certainly not new to the internet though, and so I don't let trolls, snipes and plain unfriendliness get my goat...

Anyway, 'nuff said...back to stories about cars!

(For anyone interested, my KR is currently in the shop getting a mechanical makeover - steering box, PS pump and Ram, Master cylinder and booster all getting rebuilt. She'll be all priced up for The Great Race in June, Rhode Island to North Dakota).

.      Drive the hell out of that thing. That's what it's made for 8)!

What offends my delicate sensitivity is that a story about a 1967 Shelby, real or imagined, is in the 1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR topic.

Yep !  You seen what happened to 6S1523, in the "1966" section.
They all but tore him a new a__hole. And most on here wonder why this forum is going to hell??
For God's sake it's an open forum let people do, say, work and play on their Automobiles the way they want to!!!  Geez!!

Some on here are very knowledgeable about first Gen Shelby, I'll admit that. But who's to say or tell ANYONE what to do (or don't do) with THEIR car. The knowledgeable will come back and say, " Well, when they(in Barney Fife voice), go to sell their 65-70 Shelby, everyone involved with the sale needs to know the changes", and I completely agree, but who the Hell has the right to tell ANYONE what they can do to there car??? That's what this is about. And if they don't follow the diehard Shelby group, that group blast them, and keep rolling with the negative comments.

The supposed buyer, if/when the seller of a Shelby decides to sell, the BUYER should've already done his homework, have a knowledgeable Shelby enthusiast in place to look at the car. If I were to go spend a stupid amount of money on a first Gen Shelby,  I'd be foolish not to have someone in place to go over it and see about changes (permanent and/or temporary), before ANYTHING is signed and money moved.

So, to you knowledgeable, if someone goes and buys a Shelby without doing their homework, so be it. And if/when it's ever passed on again, the buyer should do the same thing.

Yes, I'm sure a Shelby can be and will be passed on to another buyer with troubles lurking about the Shelby. But, this all goes back to Inspection, knowledge, going over the car with a fine tooth comb.

But, there's nothing in the World anybody can do about it when it is done. But, the people on this forum know better and in most cases will make sure nothing like this happens in this community. That's all we can do.

Just My Opinion, and yes we all are free to give "Opinions".

Perhaps you did not realize how many "additional" (IE: duplicate) threads had been started on the exact same subject and merged or removed from the forum before you attempted to chastise me for advising the OP of the active thread on the subject in which he stumbled across on the web. There is more that goes on behind the scenes here than what you see. But yes, you decided to make your feelings known to all who will read this thread by personally attacking my personal opinion originally posted. Thus negating my right to an opinion for your own. Bravo my friend, bravo.
