I think the '66 carryover is 6S230.  I only found 2 carryover's shipped to Archway Motors, the other was 6S248, but there is no mention of LeMans stripes.

The '65 is one of these:

On the '66 carryover, I am not surprised by the lack of GT350 emblem on the rear tail lamp panel, but it appears to be a '65 gas cap. Am I seeing that correctly?

Wow, yes! Thanks Charles. Some years ago I met a fellow who told me that he lived near Archway at the time and had taken some photos of several early GT350's in front of the dealership. But I could never get him to follow up and share them - I suspect these may be those photos.

It is interesting to note the circular architecture of the showroom, similar to that of Francis For Fords here in Harrisburg. But note the pavement color beneath the Archway Shelbys - they were given the "Red Carpet Treatment"!

Do you think they were discounting the '65 over the "brand new" '66

I agree with you about the 1966 car. It's a carryover for sure because it doesn't have backup lights. And, as you mentioned, only 2 carryovers shipped to Archway - 6s230 with Cragars & stripes, and 6s248 with Cragars but no stripes. Making this car 6s230. Great research on your part. I was all set to do a deep dive to figure out which carryover that was, but you already did that. Thanks!

Yes looks like a 65 Mustang gas cap. Maybe someone took/stole the other one

Piggy-backing on the research and information that Charles previously provided, we can make a pretty good guess when these photos were taken.

5S358 – shipped to Archway on 8/3/65 and sold to first owner on 12/21/65
5S471 – shipped to Archway on 8/3/65 and sold to first owner on 12/10/65
5S505 – shipped to Archway on 8/3/65 and sold to first owner on 12/22/65
6S230 – shipped to Archway on 9/30/65 and didn't sell until 9/3/66.

It would seem that these pictures had to be taken between 9/30/65 (when 6S230 shipped to Archway) and 12/22/65 (when the last of the possible 1965 GT350s in these photos was sold to its first owner.

Yes looks like a 65 Mustang gas cap. Maybe someone took/stole the other one

So, theoretically, the same could be said for the gas cap as the lack of GT350 emblem. The SA associate simply failed to install the new parts.

I did read in the Registry that under warranty, the gas cap was replaced on 9/14/66. I wonder if it was the '65 cap or a correct '66 cap?

The cap is a important visual for the exterior of the car. With that said not that SA could not have made a mistake but given the check over of things on SA cars prior to shipment it is more likely replaced because of stolen,warranty etc.
