Trying to figure out where these headlight wiring retainers attach, see attached pictures. I know the small retainer is correct as one each were on the original Wiring pigtail but I found one of these long retainers and am wondering if it's correct and if there is one on each side and where do all of them attach? I'm not seeing anything in the Shelby specific parts addendum or the Mustang Assembly manuals from Osborn. Any and all pictures appreciated.  If the long retainer is correct any suggestion as to who has them would be appreciated , I've looked at NPD, CJP and Dead Nuts On with no luck.
Thank you.

Special Ed

That wiring harness must have came from a regular  4 headlight system 69 mustang as they are in correct locations.  69 shelby has its own wiring and an early late type as the early had the high beam wire cutoff and grey duct tape covering the cutoffs then later for went to the new 70 mustang single headlight wire . All mustang use 2 headlight system except 67 shelby and 69 mustang and cougars.

Those long "J hook" retainers are typically mounted on one of the front side marker light bezel studs, on the inside of the front valance panel, on regular '69 Mustang production.  Not sure if they were used on the Shelby's valance marker lights since a whole new front valance was installed for those cars.

Yep.  I'm not at the shop to take a picture of the one I have.  Did they end up being used on the Shelby's?

Thanks guys, any pictures of where they both mount on a Shelby will be appreciated. Special Ed, these are new pigtails but in looking at the originals they were just the standard 69 2 light 4 wires with the high beam wires cut off and wrapped with the black tape. I just want to make sure I put them in the right place and I am missing one of the long ones and am trying to find one, I have found one at NPD, Dead Nuts or CJP. Any suggestions would be helpful.

My car never had them as far as I know. The way my harness is clipped into my Shelby specific metal fender brace there is no  reason to use  that other clip. the round black clip is so close to the side marker it appears there is no reason to use the valance style clips like in my above post. .

I got the round clips in a set of attachment hardware but NPD has the individual round ones part # #382930-SA
They also have the one I've been looking for that I couldn't find until I looked for the round one parts # 382239-S
shelbymann1970 is that long clip in your second picture the same as the long clip in my picture and on your picture of the 70 Mustang?  I can't see from your second picture where that long clip bolts up to?
Thanks

So Bob, what clips were used then? There is a hole in those metal buckets for a clip. When using the clip you are a few inches from the side light housing which makes it a natural for holding the wiring. I thought I used what was on my car but don't remember from 26 years ago. Thanks.

Reply #3 is the long clip(Deadnuts on sells them for 20 I think) was mounted to an  69 Mustang valance and shown below in the pic. I made up a couple out of metal and can't tell the difference and used them on my 69 Mach1(I like the challenge of fabrication at times). In my reply #6 those round clips are what I thought were correct but Bob says they are not. I asked 1 guy to look at his car and let me know what is on it. A friend bought Colin Comer's GT350 red vert and I asked him to send me some pics of his clips.
BTW these clips below at one time during 69 San Jose production were not used on Mustangs and they used white zip ties instead. Gary

neither of the clips were used at aosmith when 69 shelby front was installed even thou they should have used the small round one would have helped keep wire in place but they didnt. I have heard of judges  recently deducting points for not installing these on 69 70 shelbys but they must be confused with the regular 69  mustangs that did use them. Aosmith never had these 69 mustang wireing clips in inventory but they should have been used to hold that long side marker light wire in place but if u want to be concours correct they shouldnot be installed.

shelbymann1970

So they designed a part with a hole for a clip and never used the clip. Makes sense for the times. Quality wasn't job 1. LOL
BTW I never liked the way this style clip worked on a 69 regular Mustang.
