Mecum cut away to commercial as Lot #87 ...2017 Ford GT was about to be auctioned...saw on my computer that bidding was at 1.7 million...reserve was $2mil....hmmmm... wonder  why a car this expensive has had no mention whatsoever..?..(lawsuit)....could this be Cena's car ?

Al G

I watched it online.  Sold for $1.65 million.  Dana made an announcement that right to sell had already been settled in court.  That was news to me.

I also found the timing of the tv coverage interesting.

I had heard the Mecum car was being sold by the second owner not the first. I wonder if the first owner made enough profit  to off set the legal fee's?

I'll bet the first owner didn't think the second owner was going to flip the car ;D

So is there a back story here? Is it possible it was ordered sold by a court for a variety of reasons and that would hold sway over Ford's agreement? I don't know, not a lawyer, but it sure seems there has to be an interesting story as to how it came to be on it's 3rd owner now.

I think more likely just some owners flipping it to make some profit. If that is the case I don't begrudge guys making a profit but it doesn't sound very interesting to me. Maybe others will think otherwise.

And, for your viewing pleasure, here's a link showing Dana's speech about selling the car before it crossed the block, as well as when it crossed the block.
