Camaro has been in decline for a while now. GM has mentioned it has no replacement, or an updated car. What does that mean? Camaro has about a 98% percent chance of being discontinued. So, IF you want a new one, get it now.
The Challenger is selling very well. As noted it is the top seller. You will have to wait to see how the full 2022 year sales come in who wins top spot. I see more Challengers than Mustangs or Camaros where ever I go. I've been in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California and now Nevada. Same result. Did I mention I want a Challenger? LOL
Sorry, Ford die hards, its the better car.
Past owned Shelby's:
1968 GT-350--Gold
1970 GT-500--#3129--Grabber Orange.
Current lifelong projects:
1969 Mustang Fastback/FOX chassis, 5 speed, 4 wheel discs, with a modern Can-Am 494 (Boss 429), Kaase heads, intake with a 1425 cfm 'B' Autolite Inline carb, ala Trans-Am style
1968/70 Olds 442 W-30

67 GT350

The Camaro is like the girl in the bar, the more you drink the better looking she gets. (drunk)

The Camaro is the only car of its kind that the more you look at it the worse it looks. (sober)

I agree on the newer models. I call them the Disco Camaros. I believe thats what killed the sales. However, the 2009-2012 models (first retros) are nice. Those are the versions that really look line a 1969. They even had the console gauges like the originals. The SS models were quite fast.

Kinda agree with you on that. Some models were horrid with the 'retro' look...and (some were) sales disasters. Prowler, SST, the last T-Bird, PT Cruiser, The Beatle (Bug), Mini Cooper (I actually like them), along with the Pony Cars. I owned a 2001 Mustang GT, and a 2005 Mustang GT. Both were nice, and reliable, semi quick. I did get most attention with my Legend Lime 2005.

I like the retro look if done right, but in the case of the Thunderbird, it was to be out in 1999 for 20K, three years later in 2002 it was 40K, that's $$$. We have one and like it, what I do not like is you think they could have used more "Ford" components not Jag-crap. If Ford wanted to steal from its lineup I think I would have rather that the Bird be bashed on the Volvo C30, yes I would take a front wheel drive Bird, with Volvos manual and 5 cyl turbo, we have one of those also and the drive is fantastic!

From the other thread:
You know how I stand on this: Challenger. Why you ask? First, its the styling. Chrysler got it right better than Camaro and Mustang in my opinion. Its roomy. Its fast. Love the color/model options. Gold Rush, Lime Green, and B-5 Blue are my favorites. Hell Cat, Demon, Red Eye, wide body, etc. Horsepower, do I have to say it? 707 and 800 +.

98SVT - was 06GT

Smoke and mirrors - they sold all they built. There was a chip shortage and high truck demand (read profit) meant that production got priority. Even to the point of filling shipping shipping lot with trucks fully completed sans the control units which could be quickly installed when available.

Dodge has said the current Challenger and Charger will go out of production by 2024 but hasn't announced an actual date.  Camaro is up in the air, but there haven't been any official announcements.  Mustang seems solid for now.
