Talking to the owner now. He sent me undercarriage pics that look good. Probably going to end up paying full price for it because it's exactly what I've been looking for. Thoughts?

Almost looks too good to be true.  The KH wheels are worth quite a bit too...

Is there anything specifically I should make sure of before purchasing? A show winner just sold at Mecum for $75k so I don't think the price is off by that much but it seems fair. He's promised me "last word" on the car so as I said, that's likely to be pretty close to the full $64k.

It might not be original paint. Very well could be though considering the low miles.

His claim says the paint is 59 yrs old.

I went down the page and someone was asking $35,000 for just an engine 😵‍💫

Very sharp. If it is exactly what you have been looking for, sounds like you have found it.

I bet a $55K cash offer would make it yours.

It may not matter to you, but it appears someone has installed non-original P/S in the car.  1963-67 Galaxie R code cars were not available from the factory with power steering unless a dealer or owner installed it.  A/C was another option not offered on R code Galaxies.  It would pay to do an in person inspection before you pull the trigger.

Very nice looking car and if it's all there...make a deal!!

Click - BUY IT NOW            I doubt you will find a better deal. I wouldn't bother dickering on the price.

I have been looking at a restored 66. http://427galaxieregistry.com/RD66RCodeCustom.html  I fear it's a rebody since it hasn't sold yet and the guy is being cagey on what has been replaced frame/body wise. Also the modified by/at Ford doesn't seem like something they would do.

There is a 427 Galaxie registry - http://427galaxieregistry.com/
