Early 67 Front Nose Reinforcement Bolt Type

Does anyone know what type of bolts were used on an early 67 front nose? I'm referring to the bolts that go down through the nose into the reinforcement. Two on each side.

If I am understanding the ones you are referring to they are not nuts. I have seen 4 and also 3 .  I think you are referring to the countersunk slotted machine screw which was used on very early cars . The counter sunk slotted machine screws are used in conjunction with a rubber grommet and a countersunk metal beauty ring. It is typically secured on the backside with a flat washer and a nylok locking nut.

Those are a past owner replacement. The SA factory ones are as I described. They can be found pretty readily at most full line hardware stores or ones that have the Yellow Serivlite Box's.

  The official name would be "finish washer".    1/4 X 20 threads on the bolts.  Slotted pan head See below for the correction.  The "pad" is mostly hidden under the washer.
  On early cars the location often varies; if you have the original support bar, look up from the bottom to see where the employee (that day) at Shelby American drilled the holes.

Probably just a typo on your part but so there is no confusion it is NOT a pan head fastener . It is a countersunk slotted head . If it were a pan head it would not seat properly in the ring and there would be no need for the countersunk beauty ring/finish washer.    . Also for clarification the "pad " you mention is the rubber grommet in the fiberglass hole that the the beauty/finish washer sits on.

Here are the items  in the image above ID'd.  The chrome trim ring is turned upside down showing rust on the underside, the one on the right is still installed but painted, should not be painted.

(oval slotted would work well, easy to find and available chromed to match the trim ring)

Rivets where used on later cars not bolts.

If you're asking about how the fiberglass nose was held to the license plate/nose support bracket on later cars - then like Bob G said large head rivets were used that also held the lower tabs of the upper Vertical grille - inboards. 

If the grille/car has outboard High-Beams then that grill has a wide lower lip that runs almost the width of the grille that gets the rivets, see attached but not a good photo to show that portion of that grill, sorry. 

The large rivets were also used to hold the lower opening large "fiberglass tabs" to the cross member - pink circles on white car
