Tim Allen's GT350H

In more than one interview, actor Tim Allen himself, repeatedly claims to have 1 of 50 "Hurst" 4 spd Shelbys in his  prized collection. Pitifully misinformed to say the least. Though commonly referred to as a Hurst, rarely does a collector fumble over his own car collection.

Anyway curious as to what prod number is his Hertz GT 350H that he claims can not get "out of it's own way".

There was a video of Tim (on YouTube?) in his Burbank Airport shop, a year or so ago, where he gives a tour of his place.

IIRC, he mis-identifies some of the important items on several of the cars, and generally fumbles through the presentation like he was sleepy or distracted.

Van,
I had a similar situation with Tim a few years ago at a Red Carpet event I was filming. After the interview I asked him "What is your favorite car?". He never responded, and had this dazed and confused look about him. His agent then pulled him away. My producer and I just looked at each other and wondered what his problem was. Another story from way back when Tim was shooting his "Home Improvement" show, a crew member who was a friend of mine said Tim was a total A-hole. After 5 years working with him, he did not know (or care) to know my friends name. IF true, Allen is a real jerk.
Jay Leno is quite the opposite. Very friendly, and down to earth.

and even steam. If it's got wheels Leno is interested in it.

Yep Tim Allen has presented himself as a "car guy" but has no credentials or knowledge to back it up. A real zero IMHO. His time living in Detroit was spent trafficking's cocaine not playing with cars.

Allen (his real last name is Dick. Really!) can't keep his mouth shut. Remember when he and Saleen raced those Mustangs? He bad mouthed both Ford and Saleen. Hey, Tim how did that work out? You were fired.

It was complicated. Saleen was persona non grata at Ford due to unpaid bills. Tim Allen was able to get Ford online for a race effort. Then he partnered with Saleen and they created RRR Speedlab. They had some success but Allen's big mouth that failures were due to the car and not his ability also added him to Ford's persona non grata list. Without the free cars and backdoor parts/tech it closed. RRR Speedlab of course went away just another bankrupt corporation in the wake.

I wonder if they saw the future and will make a comeback in E racing - their logo looks like it had a couple extension cords.

Leno, the 'real car guy', and a heck of a nice guy too. Mr Dick (Allen) is real jerk. He is known to be nasty to his cast and crew. He feels he is 'entitled'. I worked with him...same treatment. Guess jail didn't teach him anything...

+1 I've seen him on several occasions. Been to his shop a few times. Says hi when I see him and remembers which of his cars I'm associated with but probably doesn't remember my name - too many people within his realm to know them all but never snubs or acts superior.
