Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

The Sabres frame is our SUV. Got an appropriate GT500 frame in carbon fiber.
Go Sabres, go Bills!

Actually Biggie, I ordered mine at MSRP, the dealer said they have a policy to never charge more than sticker for a car, no matter what car.  He is s good dealer, few are these days.  But I am still waiting for it, supposed to be built this week.

A friend of mine and his wife got to help build their 2014 GT500. His wife(now retired from Ford) knew the plant manager so they got in and put some parts on the car and stuff. beautiful Blue and now has (since 2014) the 50th ann super snake wheels, diff hood. I can attest how fast the car is having been in it plus it isn't stock either.  ;)

You are correct the 14 is a "factory" higher top end mustang,  that is the only category it outperforms the newer GT500.

Everything else the newer mustang is superior.

And by the way the new mustang GT500's 180-mph governor can and has been compromised already.....

0 to 60, according to Ford is the same.
24 mpg,.....................understand the new one likes gas station, so say it's owners.
Once you alter a governor, are we still talking " factory " specs ?
Don't feel bad, have had the same conversation on other sites, for the same statement..

Side-Oilers

A 180 mph governor is laughable.  You can get just as dead at 180 as at 181 and so on.  For that matter, anything over about 120 and you're probably just a mess for the fire dept to hose off the pavement.

I suspect the 180 mph limit has to do with the production tires, just like the speed limiters on most other cars/trucks.

I spent quite a bit of time on the Autobahns back in the good old days with very few speed limits and no photo cameras, and it was frustrating to be driving  a very fast and capable car and hit the limiter at a mere 155 mph (typical in BMWs, Mercs, and most others.)  While the Porsche driver roars away to top speed with no limiter.

Funny how some companies require limiters and others don't.   I'm with the latter group.

I'm also in favor of creating a national driver's licensing law that requires substantial training at a real track driving school before any sort of "advanced speed potential" license would be issued.  For all the Prius drivers who want to putt along at the speed limit, the standard license is good enough. But, for anyone wanting to own cars capable of exceeding whatever particular speed (120?) you have to get the advanced license.

I hate the distracted "drivers" in Teslas (aka Prius owners with more money) who don't realize they're doing 70 in a 35 zone, or whipping around freeway traffic at 100+ mph while on the phone...when the combined driving talent of all of those people is less than I had at age ten.

I doubt such a license will ever come to be. But it's fun to think about it.
