I thought Hertz did put GPS Tracking on their Cars because I am always reading where Hertz filed Auto Theft Charges on people who didn't bring their Rentals back on time.  Several were tracked to Restaurants.

Don't have the specifics,  but possibly had just got in and had not been tagged.

Possibly a FL sink hole got it ?
