Frame side bolts go in from the back side . single motor mount bolt goes in from the front side. They will work ether way but if you are concerned about which way historically is how it was installed which I assume you are then you need to invest in the assemblyline manuals in this case the chassis edition. These are sold by most major vendors. Don't confuse the assemblyline manuals which show how to put the car together with the shop manual which tells how to repair the car.

Would be cautious about following the Assembly Manuals 100% and always double check, when possible, what the workers did at your cars specific plant. Assembly manual pages only show what Ford engineers wanted to be done while the workers could choose in some details a better or quicker method or direction in this case. Also, the pages were redrawn and replaced with more up to date information and changes through the production year and the page that was included in the collection of pages that were reproduced. Because of this a specific page may not have all the best details for your specific car and the page we see may have been replaced the following day or a month later.

It is a valuable resource IMHO just needs to be treated as part of the research for answers just not the only resource. Its great when the published detail matches what is found on original cars!

Here are some examples from 67 San Jose production

To your question. At San Jose in 67 it was typical to have the bolts that attach the metal portion of the motor mounts on V8 engines to be inserted from the rear. Leaving the nuts visible from the front of the car as shown in the examples below. Hope this helps
