Or a pre-quell to Top Gun as Shelby, the pilot trainer.
Just nuts.

Makes me wonder how much oversite by CS' family and CS Licensing.  I see very busy lawyers hovering. 8)

FYI

https://claireandjamie.com/2018/11/17/caitriona-balfe-ford-vs-ferrari-movie/

This is more than just a movie about race car driving. While there will be some element of that within it, considering the controversial Le Mans race in 1966, it's also a movie about relationships, friendships, and business. Most of it will likely be on Ken Miles' relationship with Carroll Shelby (Matt Damon), but there will also be the relationship with his wife and son.

I sure hope it isn't a series of lectures about their feelings.   :P

Guess they don't have to worry  about recreating the 1966 Le Mans three-car finish.

Has any biographer/family member explored/revealed details regarding the Miles/Shelby/Shelby-American personal relationships?

I for one haven't read anything.

Side-Oilers

A friend was at the filming location at Agua Dulce Airport (SoCal) recently.

He showed me pix of the elaborate "Le Mans pits" sets with 500 extras in the stands cheering on the racers.  Guys like Tanner Foust and the "original Stig" are among the stunt drivers.

Filming is supposed to wrap in July.

If Aqua Dulce airport is going to pass for LeMans the special effects people will have to do some serious CGI work.

Agreed.   I'm surprised that they paid 500 extras to be in the stands.  More and more movies are CGI-ing in the background people as well.

If I was retired and had the time, I would pay them to be around for that type of filming.

My bet is having 500 extras is less expensive than CGI

+1
On one of the behind the scene shows for Game of Thrones, they said one of the biggest expenses was the CGI for the dragons.  In fact, the joke was

Curious:  Has anyone from SAAC been contacted about being a technical advisor for the movie?

Where else are they going to find guys who were there back in the day, and/or know the stats, facts and minutae like a Ford-obsessed savant?

Of course, that makes too much sense for Hollywood.  And probably too late now anyway.  I heard that filming is scheduled to wrap in July.

I was headed to Miller Motorsports Park for a day of driving after buying my 2013 BOSS 302LS. In the plane seated next to me was an older woman who was asleep except for the last 15 minutes of the flight. We talked a bit and she asked me where I was headed. I told her and her comment was " I used to work with Carroll and the gang back in the '60's. The partying and carrying on can't be talked about today. We would all be in trouble." I thought "Why the hell couldn't we have talked since boarding and not just 15 minutes. I would have recorded everything she told me." It all happened so fast that I neglected to get her name. Not that she would have given it to me anyway. She should be a resource for the movie!
