You're all a bunch of old bitter women if you're not excited about this movie.

I don't think anyone has said they weren't excited about the movie, in fact the concept is fantastic and could be really exciting on the big screen. I think everyone's bummed about the choice of the lead character, as most of us have our personal experiences with CS and feel Matt Damon falls considerably short in all of the departments.

100% on what Terlingua 11 said.

It is very nice to see Shelby and the Le Mans team get its long-due recognition from Hollywood.  I only wish that CS could've still been alive to serve as the technical advisor.  He would've likely busted Damon's ass over the characterization.  Not to mention calling the producers about the car errors.

But, this is likely to be the one and only Hollywood movie ever about CS, so I am excited to see it...cringe-worthy moments and all.

If CS had been alive when this production was released, the size and scope of the ensuing litigation would be another legendary era.
Just nuts.

I wonder about that.

Seems to me IF the producers paid him a hefty enough of a "consulting fee" and IF he had actual say over casting and all the stuff we find annoying about the movie, he might have very well taken the $$ and been happy about both the recognition and the payday.

BUT, if the producers ignored him, didn't pay him what he was worth, and so on...yes he'd be a very-pissed-off Carroll.

I can't imagine why Peter Brock wasn't the technical advisor.  What better living person is there?

Oh yeah, that's right...it's HOLLYWOOD we're talking about.
Who needs an advisor who actually was there back-in-the-day, and knows the intricate details of the story that's being told?

It depends on who's paying for the movie. It's a wonder that they didn't cast Schwarzenegger as Shelby? He was finished pretending to be a Governor. At least they could get the screen score right?

He could point at Ferarri and say "Heil bee bock!"

I wondered the same thing. From what I can tell, he says, "Out there is the perfect ______.  Can you see it?"  I can't tell if he's saying "light" or "line".
Nothing beats a classic!

I thought that B.S. scene withe the Deuce whimpering like a baby might get someone angry

I do agree having Henry Ford 2 crying was ridiculous. More men from that era were extremely tough especially shaped from depression and world war not to mention Viet Nam.The scene is created to appease certain weak mentalities. I'll still see the movie and try to gloss over the unrealistic parts.

Here is the deal.  This is a movie not a documentary so enjoy it for what it is.  Are they going to miss details and have things in the move that did not really happen, YES!  Everyone just go and enjoy and support it!  It is about time Ken Miles got the recognition he deserves!!

Most importantly, they nearly missed making this movie a disaster, their first choice for Carrol Shelby was Tom Cruise!!!!  Now that would have ruined it!!!  All 5 foot 2 inches of Tom Cruise!

+2 on the ridiculous Henry Ford II crying scene.

The fact that they put this scene in the trailer, I suppose, is to open up the audience of ticket buyers to people who want a funny action film.

UGH.  I hope it doesn't have much of that cr*p in it.

(Yes, I'm still interested in seeing it, and it's great for Shelby, Miles, et al, to get recognition.)
