fuel hose crimp clamps

the ones currently sold by the usual vendors are too large and dont fully tighten. is there a source for the correct size? referring to the fuel hose that clamps the the carb fuel filter.

there are different size fuel hoses & clamps depending on the fuel filter  fuel hose & fuel hard lines

Edward, I already experienced the problem that you described. I purchased the "GAS" hose from a nationally known supplier and the crimp clamps came in the kit. I wanted the "Concurs" look. Installed them on both the carburetor line and fuel pump line. Shortly after that, one of the crimps at the fuel filter on the front of the 4100 failed. I removed the hose examined the crip and really couldn't see why it failed. I replaced it with a standard band clamp with the screw type tightener and all is well.

Now I'm keeping an extra good eye on on the other three crimp clamps, the ones at the fuel line and into the fuel pump. Having had one leak, I'm now a bit unsettled about the rest of them. It might have been my error while crimping it, but the crimp looked like the other three and I felt it went as well as the others during installation.

The crimp tool I used is the one made specifically for these type of clamps.

I think you might be right about the size of the clamps. I also felt like the rubber tubing marked "GAS" felt a little thin and weak in comparison to what I'm used to working with.

I don't think I'll be using either the aftermarket tubing or clamps in the future.

AMK has the correct style, without the dimple.  I ordered several sizes to make sure I got ones tight enough.  The ones without the dimple, must be installed with the special pliers, or the flat area will bend.  That is what the dimple strengthens.  I think I got the pliers at NPD for around $15.

Just guessing but the problem may be a new one if the supplier of the hose is not metric and or the walls are now being made thinner.  Don't recall this being a major issue that had been asked in the past
