So in both of these pics the header brackets are mounted wrong, correct? Thanks. Gary

From your pic they look incorrect. To be clear the brack goes behind the fiberglass tabs of the header and those brackets have an extruded tapped hole so the bolt screws into those brackets. Am I correct on that?

I believe you are correct..Seems like it would take some modification to make them mount that way..

You nailed it Gary. The fiberglass tab is sandwiched between the bracket and head of screw as the illustration indicates.

Thanks Bob. Original brackets have an extruded hole that is tapped so I wonder are these cars using the original with the extruded part cut off and the hole opened up with a clip on the backside. I saw 3 68s that I looked at including the 2 above that were incorrect and others that were correct last Friday at Mecum. I wonder at MCACN  if the black car below was knocked down for incorrect mounting. The one on BaT right now is mounted incorrect. My 68 had them mounted the right way BTW.  :)    https://www.mecum.com/lots/554506/1968-shelby-gt350-convertible/
