Kent,Washington Vintage Races June 30-July 2, 2023 Tribute to Shelby American

The 35th Annual SOVREN Vintage car races will be held again at Kent Raceways, also known as SIR or Pacific Raceways on Friday, June 30th until Sunday July 2, 2023. Constructed in the late 1950's, it is one of few vintage race tracks still in its basic, original form. In the 1960's, it was simply known as Kent and was vistied by the Shelby American team each year. It was also later visited by the various Trans Am teams as well. This year is a tribute to 120 years of Ford Racing, Shelby American and the 100 years of Carroll Shelby. This year's celebrity is Steve Saleen and will also mark the debut of Dave McDonald's restored 1962 Corvette Special "00" which was the last Corvette McDonald raced before joining Shelby American. Dave's son will be present for the debut of the Corvette bringing his father's racing helmet and releasing a new book about his father.
There will be a display of original and restored Shelby Mustangs and Cobras inside a large tent as well as a few spaces outside of the tent. There may be a few spots left on a couple of the days, if you are interested in bringing your car to this event or have questions you may contact Mark Hovander at hov@blarg.net   People who bring their car for display will get a free pass for entrance and a soon to be collectible, we think, event program.
