People have choices. This is apparently today's market.

Someone can ask whatever price they want. They are only the established market if they trade hands. ;)

Have to admit that I have never heard of a starter delay, just a starter relay. What is the purpose of this part?

Coralsnake

To prevent damage to the starter motor, by delaying the ignition initiating two successive starts that grind the starter gear

Cobrabob

Okay, thanks, I guess. Why would the starter be energized twice? And did other Fords require this part or just the late 60's model years?

Coralsnake

That would require the driver to attempt two rapid starts

Not aware of other cars except 68 1/2 CJ with this part

Have found them from time to time in yards on things like big block powered station wagons. Don't think I ever paid attention to year or model but guess they were 68's also
