cannister bracket

So I'm looking at pics of a car and I'd say original metal but it doesn't have the space saver cannister bracket. When did they start using the brackets on 69s? This car was built 2/27/1969. Was the canister on those cars mounted like I see here under the tire? Thanks.

I sure wish someone comes forward with previous unknown Ford docs on when the bracket started. 2/27/69  is around the time Ford started using the bracket . I have only have had observations up to this point. Nothing that I have seen and safety logic would suggest that the canister would not be mounted pinched under the space saver in that way. I typically see them loose under the tire but inside the rim.

1584, a 3/31/1969 build did not have the bracket for the space saver canister. On the SAACforum 1.0 we have a lengthy discussion and lots of pictures down to bare metal to prove the car never had it installed.

The pictures above are of a gulfstream aqua car. The pics look like silver jade to one in one and both in the other. That color like grabber green depending on the atmosphere and lighting can look like another color. I've seen grabber green look like grabber blue doe to weather conditions in amateur photography. Dale Amy once told me that to get certain colors right he has to use filters. Dale shot 2 of my cars for Mustang Monthly(sent by Donald Farr).

You are referring to what is known in the photo biz as 'color temperature'. For example, daylight is 5600-6000 Kelvin. Tungsten (indoor) is around 3200 Kelvin. The 'higher' the Kelvin, the more blue the tint. The lower, more orange/yellow. That is why your friend uses filters to 'correct' the color.

The added space saver bottle  cradle and spring is a 69 boss 302 setup since they all had f-60-15 tires standard equipment so from what i seen its around april 1 or so when 69 boss 302s came out and blacked out cowl panels and lh ribbed apron started showing up but there are always exceptions.  I have seen 2 or so 70 boss 429s with lh smooth type aprons like early 69 but the whole rail assembly was spotwelded together before installing on assembly line so some early 70 b9s got 69 smooth aprons probly found when rotating inventory or whatever. Last  month i was in california working on a b9 for a concours de elagance show i also inspected a recent barnfind 70 boss 429 that was parked in the 70s and mostly original paint from what i can tell looking thru thick dirt and dust but the cowl panel was body color like early 69 and it even had the 69 spec decal and KK rotation # on it of which is KK only done covered in dust and and the engine bay area was unmolested so this was another factory mistake.
