I haven't been able to find the VIN stamped one for my car, Shelby 0786.  The second owner who's information was previously unknown in the registry, was identified because of an old title the 3rd owner had from 1970.  Anyways, I contacted the gentleman, Harold (Butch) Clark and he told me he took the 4 speed out in 1970 in DeQueen Arkansas and that the transmission was sold for $50 but he couldn't remember to who.  Anyways, the transmission if it exists is likely in east Texas, Arkansas, or South eastern Oklahoma based on who he raced with at that time.  Yes my poor car was drag raced for 30 years.  Anyways, long story short, of course I'd love to find that RUG-S but I will take a different t one if you have it.

Not sure you got my pm but terry's transmission is my old one, a68

The RUG-S needs to be appropriately dated for a January 67 car.  Is December 66 too close to the build date?

Also if anyone has a good source for Shelby or Mustang parts in Arkansas please let me know as I am not giving up all hope of finding the original transmission - just most hope lol!

FYI It would not be prudent to pass up any opportunity if you are lucky enough to find one . This comes from decades of concours experience. They are that few and far between. Do you know where the Trans date codes are located since you were wanting a approximate date?

Keith Craft in Arkadelphia carries FE blocks and may have the RUG-S Toploader, or a lead on one.

Seems they, like many businesses now days, have let their webpage die and do their business on Facebook (hate that).

Not sure I would buy an engine from them, but they sometimes have parts.

Have you tried the FE forum or Cobrjet Forum?

Mike James

Ya thanks I tried the FE forum and I know Keith Kraft

Perogie or Cobra Automotive

Do a search on eBay every day.

Good luck

You could run an ad in Hemmings.  The only issue to consider is you will have to provide the S/N.  To me thats not a big deal, as once that number is identified with you no one would copy it as you have identified it as being yours.
