Haven't worked in a while, so I am getting ready to dig into these.

If I am not mistaken, don't they run off the dimmer switch on the floor?

Any common areas I can easily check 1st?
Fuses?
Bad wiring?

Thx

Coralsnake

They are usually spliced right off the headlight harness.

The white scotch-loc quick connectors can be a source for a bad connection . You can clean and redo /improve the connections without getting rid of the historic build technique that the white scotch-loc represents.

When I owned #2188 they never worked...

I never drove it at night so it wasn't a big deal...

The easiest check is to start by using a multimeter or lest light seeing if you have power at the splice /factory headlight plug connection. If you have power there then you know it is the spice and if not then you know it is a problem from the splice on back.

Does the high beams work in your outboard fender lighs.  This could help direct you to the switches or wiring.

Check the ground connection. I bet the fault is there.

OK if Bret is referring to the same car then you might also check that the dimmer switch is working and the bulbs are good as well, are the fender high-beams working?  (all four lights should come on when the dimmer is switched on).  Might be the dimmer is bad or not connected into the system?
