This is in orange county California opened a couple years ago ,I drive by it like every week this is my first time I was able to visit. They have a cars and coffee once a month it really was a sight to see. They seem to have a huge amount of yellow KR's convertibles like six or seven and a bunch of other KR's. I don't know if they rotate them or what but a bunch or "68"s & not one of them had stripes .

They have ALL the yellow 4 spd A/C KR converts.
Segerstrom's own South Coast Plaza and still have a 40 acre bean farm near the museum. The cars were originally in a barn there but when they got too many they moved to a warehouse and finally created this event center to share their cars with the public. They are well known in Orange County for their generosity. This is the ONLY car museum that I have seen where the museum is not the charity. All donations go to the Shriners Hospital for Children or to Shelby's charity.
They also have a lot of #1 late model Shelbys. Tim Lea does their restorations.

They use a large forklift with a custom made platform bolted to the forks. The opening was delayed because some of the display stuff was held up in shipping.

Actually....
I sold Ted the his first yellow 68 GT 500KR Convertible.
I had purchased it near Harper's Ferry in WV.
It was a 4 speed with AC and within a few months he asked if I could locate and purchase the rest of the vehicles.

It took about 2 1/2 years but I was able to track down all the yellow cars.
Nebraska, New Jersey and Michigan maybe...
The Nebraska KR was in a barn in this quiet town outside of Lincoln.
I remember that day because the town and the area was similar to Mayberry on Andy Griffith.
The owner mentioned he really wanted a 65 GT 350 and maybe it was time to let the convertible go.

The last one was in Illinois and owned by a woman that worked for the airlines.
She was by far the most difficult to deal with.  Her Dad had left her the vehicle and even though she never used it, she was reluctant to sell.

Pete Disher was very helpful with this search and I was able to secure every car for Ted.

Every Shelby has a story behind it....

When they opened they used forklift and platform. There is opening in roof to drop crane cable through and lift platform. Yes lots of krs but also many very significant others. 2 factory drag cars, only 66 Paxton automatic (carrolls personal) 8 69/70 drag pak convertibles all different colors, 66 hertz cars in every color and the only hertz kr
