From long term ownership by the family of Donald Rager, the late COO of Shelby American, a 1999 Shelby Series 1 Prototype CSX50X2 is now for sale at Sothebysmotorsport.com.  The auction ends on Monday 10/9. This is the second Series 1 prototype and has a very interesting history and lots of documentation. Rager received the car as part of his compensation from the company and the family has lovingly maintained the car and retained all of it origin paperwork.

Does anyone know this car and have comments about this piece of Shelby history?

CS had a surplus of these lying around and always tried to pass them off as part of a severance package in lieu of cash. This is now the 4th one I've heard was part of a "compensation package".
