Can't really say.  But I found the video quite interesting.  Incidentally a killer 1:18 scale model of the Malco Mustang was made a while back.  What a beauty!

Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb

Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

Does it live up to the photos?  It looks highly detailed.

Yep - the Funny Car killed it along with the NHRA rules changes.

They have even killed my favorite Fuel Altered class. Bring back the short wheelbase so they don't look like top fuel cars with old car bodies on them. This first one is vintage Wild Willie the legend of AA/FA. The second at Famosa this year note the looooong cars out for an easy Sunday drive.

Did his Car really have a Passenger Seat?

Dis his Car really have a Passenger Seat?
Appropriate question given that an extra seat means extra weight.  I did some research now and found a few photos (not the easiest to find photos of this car's interior with seats) and yes, it would appear that there was a passenger seat.  The first photo I found you can see just a hint of the seat while it was doing its thing at the strip.  The rest of the photos make it clear that it did.  Plus the 69 Malco also had a passenger seat. Perhaps a rule requirement?

Okay the drag photo I could not post because it was in some weird wep format.  The other photos show the seat quite clearly.

First vid man the left lane contender really got out of shape at the beginning.  Looks like that foil above was making the car want to lift in the front.

Side-Oilers

I loved the Fuel Altereds.  Never knew which way they'd go, micro-seconds after the launch.

Now you know why they called him Wild Willie. There are a lot of shots of him all crossed up with one hand on the wheel and holding on to the side of the car with the other hand. I crewed on an A/FA (no blower) and it was interesting to watch it leave with the torque twisting everything. I can only imagine how much another 800-1000+ hp (at the time) effects things.

"Wild Willy" Borsch!  Absolutely!  Everyone stood in the stands, and crowded the fences, when he was about to run.

Brett, who did you crew for?

Ohio George's blue '67 was quite a thing when it came out. His red '69 Mach One was dominant, particularly after he got the Boss 429 engine working with twin turbos. That car was truly ahead of its time and cost maybe 5 times what everyone else spent.

I think Bob Perkins owns the red car right now.
