(sorry for this large image, I'm just doing a quick & dirty on the 'ol iPad...)

But can someone tell me which issue of Customs Illustrated this article is in? This is page 61.

Thanks,

Is the car missing the tach dash pod?

mgreene,

Good eye, I say you are correct! The other photos of the car (5S003) in this article are the well known and widely published ones that we have all seen, except for a rare 2 page right side profile shot that I would have to consult my files to confirm if I have ever seen before...

I found this article at a vendor booth at MCACN last weekend. It's not in the best of shape, but I knew I had to have it because it is the first time I have ever seen it anywhere.

It is another example of the bugaboo I have with many 60's car magazines, where they don't have the issue info at the bottom of the pages. I have had success before here on the Forum in situations like this where someone chimes in with the issue / date.

Here's hoping again with this one!

I forgot to add that it does have a tach dash pod in another photo in the article - that well known photo of the gauges mocked up using paper inside the dash pod...

Hi Cory,

Sorry for my belated reply.
The topic had to have rotated out of the "recent" section at the bottom of the Forum home page, and then I somehow missed your Reply.

But I really do appreciate your response, and sent you an email as well...

Thanks again,
Kieth

No side mirror for 65 Shelby
+1 . Mirror was the most common day 2 addition so much so that no mirror looks out of place today.

SAAC Concours judging for 65 Shelby there would be a deduction for a side mirror.

I love citations to statutes.  Being serious here.

Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb

Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"
