For sale is a NOS pair of Koni Adjustable 82-1389 Special "D" shock absorbers made for the 1964.5 - 1970 Mustang

These rear shocks are new and unused, I am just not sure as to how old they are.
Next to the Special "D" logo on both shocks is 306, could be March of 2006 date code? I am unsure, if anyone knows, I'd love to be informed.

Comes with the original paper instructions.

There are a few light marks and nicks in the paint, as well as remnants of tape on one of the tubes.
Comes with its original bushings, mounting hardware and plastic nut protective caps.

Asking $375 $275 plus shipping

Feel free to ask any questions

The Koni shocks are extremely well made . No, a never used older 90's or 2000's made shock does not need to be rebuilt. In fact the majority of USED 65/66 era made Koni shocks don't typically need rebuilt.  Just to remind , only the 65 and about 900 of 66 GT350's used Koni shocks from the factory . The older shocks that need rebuilt are typically the result of damage due to accident or corrosion on the piston shafts, upper bushings on fronts etc. Rebuilding is not a advantage on any Koni shocks date coded after 1965 with few exceptions. The cost of Koni factory rebuild is typically high so the market value of a used later Koni shock vs. rebuild cost typically doesn't make financial sense. Also to note is that the Koni rebuild process in many instances after it comes back has physical differences compared to a unaltered shock. Koni factory people in the past that I have talked to have only concern about functional issues with little to NO regard to historical looking concerns . Just my observations over more then a few decades.
