Tony may you and yours enjoy the HERTZ in that spectacular weather environment. That electronic ignition will last for years of trouble free driving. What will kill it is if you ever forget to roll the key on without starting it. Just a few seconds like that, will cook the module. Happy motoring! ;)

Trickle charged my battery again today.  Next charge will be before I fire the old girl up for the season in April.

Have been running a pertronix unit in my car for 19 years.  No issues so far.

You know we have had the same experience,  we have run these in several car for many years and truly never had issues

Thank you for the kind words and yes we have had spectacular weather on our side.

Petronix has been very reliable throughout the years,  just a great modification

Well there I was standing over this 289 and slowly clicking away with a remote starter switch. Making the valves dance slowly to the beat, click, click, click up and down.

What horror brought me to this point ?

What would drive me to this madness ?

Valve covers off,  Mobil One 15/50 slightly and slowly oozing off the heads. The headers receiving a small infusions of what is now synthetic man made  dinosaur juice.

A slight smoke stack billowing off these vintage pipes looking like the great Chief Geronimo summoning all his tribe just before the battle cry is heard.

Then reality set in got to adjust these  valves cause the constant hammering not only is driving me nuts, but will eventually cause failure.

Kept clicking away and adjusting. They where so loose that if they where any looser, the cam and lifters would be back in their original boxes.

Well I'm done now, car is a lot smoother and quieter.  Responds really well when floored.

Some questions to the aficionados out there.

Who is this Buddy Bar  who unscripted his name inside the valve covers  ?

Where is his place if business located ?

Does he serve just adult liquid refreshments there or does he just packaged goods also ?

Until the next adventure or see you at the Buddy Bar.....

I know Buddy Bar cast the aluminum heads on my 427 and I know they cast most, if not all, of the aluminum parts for Shelby Engine Company, or at least they did.

After 58 years I guess the rubber components have held up considerably well, but it's time to replace.

Starting with the front end tie rods,  pulled them off, cleaned, applied grease and new dust boots

Once the rods are off, clean, clean and clean.  Apply new grease and new seals.

Match the new seals to a big socket that is close to the size of the metal rim on the new boots. Apply grease and "s l o w l y" tap down with a rubber mallet or hammer

The end results are you will have these almost new tie rod ends.

Not bad looking for a daily driver type car
