Dump the Transgo then and keep what the car originally had.

I truly comprehend what you are saying and the first to second is very impressive to say the least.

Second to third is also no slouch.

This tranny woke up the little feller, feels completely different now.

What I am looking for "if" the shift kit is installed will it be noticeable improvement?

Case and point I had a 1970 Mach 1 C6 yea4s ago, put in a B&M reverse manual valve body in it.

This thing when shifted the rear end and tires wanted to go through the floor boards.

It was a savagely totally brutal fast
shifting car

So TransGo or NoGo...that is the question

Yesterday was a very nice sunny (that's the usual) day in Floridaland.

So I took the old cult car, Hertzmobile out for a spin.

What a wonderful and glorious ride it was.

But  the journey left me with more questions.

Why is that lil injun so loud?

All that clackity and clack?

Sounds like that car Dick Van Dyke drove chitty chitty bang bang.

Why does that right rear wheel screech and excrete so much  smoke when applying slight pressure to the GO pedal?

If anyone has any insight to these maladies that this car suffers from, feel free to chime in.

As I am not a mechanic/technician or a renowned shelby expert.

289 hipo Solid lifters typically make a sound that can be described as clackity and clack or a old sewing machine. The 66 GT350 came from the factory with a open rear end which means when step on the go pedal one tire can break loose and spin while the other does not.

If I am at a car show and am asked about what kind of sound system and audio enhancements does the 66 have, I reply the audio comes from under the hood and out the rear pipes.  Shelby stereo.  Listen up!
Just nuts.

What did I do to my '66 today?

I bought a 2nd version 1966 steering wheel. It's going to look great.

More importantly, I met a great guy while doing it.

But you know what's truly embarrassing, as we headed home it told me to stop for some drinks...I truly believe "IT" has a drinking problem and only drinks top shelf stuff

We also went to lunch and had sushi

But I guess someone dont like sushi and
had a immune system over reaction, developed hives, swelling, and breathing problems.

 Then blew my post away

Will be a surplus of Jack Daniels for it should the car so desire. Nice photo of the Hertz in its natural habitat (out of the garage).

Sushi itself is cold rice. Nothing more nothing less. Raw fish is the typical garnishment or shell fish. Lots of parasites to contend with when one goes down that road regrettably. Sushi alone should not cause said reaction.

This weekend Shelby American came to town.

They came to visit Miami, cause Miami is where it's at !

They brought and show cased their newest state of the art products "The New GT350" built just like "The Real Ones" back in the day

Enjoy
