'68 GT500 water pump

A handfull of questions regarding replacement water pumps for a nice driver car posing as a correct detailed vintage original.

New water pump sourced locally, new casting so no casting numbers or date stamps.

First question: Is the backing plate which is the access to the impeller and bearing painted or left natural?

Second Question:  Is the heater hose screw on fitting available that appears somewhat factory looking ? If so, please provide link.  I've heard Dorman has them but not close to original.

Third question: The shaft and fan mounting block stays unpainted and left natural, correct?

If you don't care about correct numbers then source a rebuilt water pump from the autoparts store. The rebuilt water pumps are typically Ford rebuilts. Who knows you may get lucky .The pump was painted on the engine so whatever could be reached by the spray gun got painted.The mounting flange was not intended to be painted but no doubt some overspray could reach it and did on some of the millions painted, regardless it can't be seen once waterpump pulley is mounted. The internet is a wonderful thing and you can look up and find the correct heater hose fitting from National Parts Depot or Mansfield Mustang.
