So Americarna is back and better than ever!  Or at least that's what they say.  The date is November 30th, is there any interest in me securing VIP parking for our Shelby club?  We'll have to have a commitment of a decent number of classic Shelby's.

I'll be going, they haven't had many 65-70 Shelby's the past 2-3 years, I'm usually pretty lonely.  I was a bit disillusioned last year, the alleged new VIP lot which is between the old HQ building and the new one, filled up within seconds of them opening the main gate at 7am and without them monitoring of who was parking there.  I paid for that and ended up way in the back 40 with genpop. The old building was under renovations and the new place with hospitality, was quite small and did not allow for spouses unless paying double entry fee ($400).  The Corvette people must get there overnight, they have taken over the entire top lot, they had about 70 cars last year.  The former VIP lot where we have parked before, is now the "celebrity"/sponsor lot and they barricade that now.  If I recall, they had over 600 cars last year, so it keeps getting bigger and bigger.

Brian,

Would love to attend, but have family in town that day. If things change, I'll let you know.

I can work on getting us into the 'Celebrity lot' but as mentioned we would need to have a definitive group of classic Shelbys confirmed.

It was a 25 degree start to the day, and it stayed sunny and chilly for another great event.  I'd guess around 400+ cars cycled through the day, but I think the cold kept people away as last year was well over 600.  I represented with #01609, and was joined by #01680, a previously unknown '67, a beautiful dark green GT350.  It had been apart for a really long time, but is now back operational and the owner did a fantastic restoration job on this car and I hope he joins us for other events.  As usual, I was surrounded by every Camaro and Corvette in NC.  Next year, the show will be moved forward one week to see if more cars come out vice two days after Thanksgiving.
