I have only made it to four conventions but I can tell you that the people I met and worked with are open and giving. People I had never met would just star talking to you. Its a great feeling so if you ever get the chance, go to a national convention, you won't regret it.

The Kopecs and Pardee were visiting and somehow our blender burned out. We sent Howard with our 8 year old daughter 4 blocks to her grandma's to borrow her blender. A 5 minute trip. She had Howard make a wrong turn and it was 15 minutes before they arrived. My MIL had called us at 10 minutes and in the background I'm certain she heard Kopec saying "Don't worry, he was cleared of those charges". When they arrived she yanked her grand daughter inside and slammed the door in Howard's face. Our daughter plead Howard's case that they were always picking on him and he was a nice guy. A call to the wife finally got our daughter released to Howard, with a puzzled look on his face and they arrived shortly thereafter blender in hand.
