This pic came up on one of my sites. Was new to me . You cannot view this attachment.

Outside rearview mirror is the basic Mustang type, rather than what we should see on an early Shelby.

Hi 68blk500c,

You are correct on the mirror.  Are you saying the Mustang then is not a GT350?  But consider the mirror was an option back in the day.  An early GT350 could have received a standard Mustang mirror.  It is not conclusive this Mustang is not a GT350 or is a GT350 based on the mirror alone.  However, the side stripe GT350 is also missing, so you are probably right that it is likely a non-GT350 Mustang.  More information is need to confirm a GT350.  What else can you see or not see?

Grumpy,

Thank you for sharing image.  Very cool.

Take care

The early GT350 that came without a mirror (65) would have been painted Wimbledon white.

Hi Bob,

I agree with you.  I was incorrectly thinking early 66 GT350's also had the optional mirror.   So there are three features that suggest Mustang, non-GT350.

1) Standard Mustang mirror
2) Absent "GT350" side strip
3) Not Wimbledon White

A few other observations:

1. Shocks look orangeish....Koni's?
2. Looks like black valve covers with natural fins. Could be closed letter or painted open letter.
3. Engine, at least the heads, appear blue.

TA Coupe

Looks to have an Accel distributor cap, not that is indicative of anything.

If it starts it's streetable.
Overkill is just enough.

Inside the open garage door, looks like newer style posters on the wall, could the large one possibly be one printed and sold in the 80's?

TA Coupe

Slightly enhanced the picture.

Hi all,

I am hearing from a buddy that the Mustang is a coupe and the COBRA is a Austin Healey converted to look like a COBRA.  Bummer

Thanks Cory. Interesting that the cars are staged very similarly but the garage doors are different, look white in the first photo and much darker in your third photo.

Wow! Will "Conspiracy Theories" EVER stop?

Why bother to convert a Healy to a Cobra? Why not just buy a Cobra? At the time 289's were $2,500 cars?

So it is a coupe? Ever hear of the Shelby Group 2 cars?

It must simply be that there are evil forces at work to circumvent the positive workings of society? Yep. That's it.
68 GT350 Lives Matter!

Guess this is why I have never ran across this photo before . 8)
