You remember when good spark plugs were priced at a buck?

Nevermore

Once you modify you must go to a Brisk or NGK plugs and one step colder.

Gapped around .028 -.030 is a good range as well.

These may last up to 25,000 miles.

Perfect for the denser air/fuel mixture on forced induction applications, these colder NGK Spark Plugs (6510) are a direct replacement for your S550 Mustang. These plugs come in a set of eight, and offer premium quality with a high melting point.

Features and Benefits:
- One Heat Range Colder Than Stock
- Great For Forced Induction
- Easy Installation
- Direct Fit Replacement
- Set Of Eight (8) Spark Plugs

Stepping to a colder plug is important on nitrous-equipped, supercharged, or turbocharged engines. If you've boosted your Coyote recently, or just need to change the plugs, this set from NGK will provide the reliable and precise spark you need.

Keeping in everything in sync, the proper installation of Full-Length Jacking Rails

Why ?

While the chassis is very strong by default, these rails seem to reduce some amount of droop when the front is on the ground and the rear is not fully supported by the ground.

It does feel like the rails provide a little more rigidity to the body, although I agree that there's not much body flex in the S550.

We got them for the ease of jacking up the car to change tires, the added rigidity is just a plus for us.

I did not expect any difference in road feel, but I was WRONG.

A significant increase in longitudinal stiffness was noticed for sure. Just like when putting subframe connectors on Fox bodies...big change.

That means that F-R stiffness, or a unifying effect upon the chassis is made thru those eight bolts and the jack rails.

Continuing with the "plan" of this chosen "Cult Car"

DeatschWerks has expanded its fuel rail product category to include two popular modern-muscle applications: Ford Mustang 5.0 Coyote and GM LS1/LS6.

A clean-sheet CAD design process has produced two new fuel rails that offer higher flow, more plumbing options, and several unique features that go beyond what is currently available in the market.

Quality, Performance, and Flexibility are what the customer has asked for, and DW has delivered.

Quality - DW fuel rails are CNC'd from billet T6061 aluminum and hard anodized in a black finish. The new DW rails were designed with integrated CNC brackets; less expensive bolt-on brackets save money but lack stiffness and precision.

In addition, DW engineers invested significant design time removing excess material to shave weight and create a sleek signature look resulting in a rail that looks as good as it performs.

Performance - DW fuel rails outflow the competition with -8AN ORB inlets and outlets utilizing bore diameters that exceed AN spec by 80%.
In addition, only DW rails feature bottom-mount 3/8" NPT ports for low-profile fuel pulsation damper integration – which decrease noise and pressure fluctuations in dead-headed and returnless configurations.

Flexibility - DW fuel rails are engineered for use in both return and returnless configurations.

This flexibility allows you to buy once and buy right, future-proofing your rails for build stages yet to come.

The DW rails also feature 1/8" NPT top ports and 3/8" NPT bottom ports which allow integration points for nitrous, pressure gauges, fuel pulsation dampers, and other rail accessories.

A Schrader Valve is included with each set for easy and accurate fuel pressure data logging during tuning sessions.

The similarities are just unbelievable, back in the good old days a Ford Mustang would leave the factory and make it's way to the Shelby Americans Institute of Handling & Power.

Shelby American would cast their spell and that Mustang would be transformed into a SHELBY with it's own distinct C.S.M. number

One of the additional options at Shelby  American was turning your 289 hipo 306 horsepower into a supercharged (thank you Mr Granatelli) 443 bhp monster.

Or you could actually purchase the Paxton over the counter and have it installed.

You are living in the greatest country in the world.

Fast forward to today and it's the same process, the Ford Mustang goes to Shelby American they customize, modify and then (hold your breath Loretta!) they C.S.M.ize this unique creation.

As far as the supercharger, today you can option it to have 6-7-8-9 or possibly 1,000+ horsepower or more done by Shelby American or others!

You can purchase the supercharger from Shelby American or Rousch or Whipple.

Who says the good old days are gone?

The good old days are now, dont let them pass you by....

What injectors to use?

This varied depending on your Growth Goals

We went with Injector Dynamics ID1050X

Why?

Corrosion resistant internals make it compatible with all known fuels, capable of extended service life with corrosive fuels.

High flow rate:

Compared to stock injectors, the ID1050x can deliver a larger volume of fuel per injection cycle, enabling more power potential.

Improved performance:

When paired with a custom tune, these injectors can enhance acceleration, throttle response, and overall engine performance, especially on heavily modified vehicles.

E85 compatibility:

The "X" in ID1050x signifies corrosion resistant internal components, making them suitable for use with ethanol-based fuels like E85.

Reputation for quality:

Injector Dynamics is widely recognized for producing high-quality fuel injectors, and the ID1050x is considered a reliable choice for performance applications

Why do envious people insist on knowing or assume (wow you know what  they say) your plans?

Let's address these intriguing inquires

1 this post should be called how to throw aftermarket parts at your coyote motor

Answer : what "it" wanted to say was "throw money at your car"

Because the coyote motor is installed in the car.

The car is a Shelby Hertz C.S.M. 1 of 172 made

This car, just like all the real ones (1965 - 1967)  "that they Shelby American
also threw a lot of aftermarket parts" on their conversion from Mustang to Shelbys.

2 burned up 1969

Answer:

"It" stop living in the past. Turn the page and live in the here and now, move into today.

3 destroyed 1966 transmission

Answer:

Destroyed 1966 "it" means a well purchased 1966 Shelby Hertz GT350 C.S.M. car 1 of 1,000 made

That we got lucky and found a 1966 automatic transmission from another Shelby car that was converted to stick shift. Had it rebuilt and installed

4 wait until "it" finds out that we are going to install an after market AC unit in our four speed 1969 GT500

5 "It" says possibly a pattern?

Answer:

Yes there is a pattern of continous improvements, making our Shelby C.S.M. cars how we want have them.

A constant flow of "cash money" on several projects at the same time.

Hoping all are enjoying their lives yesterday, today and tomorrow

Living the American Dream one day at a time!

Going back to the Moroso Oil Separator we reviewed many others and came to the conclusion that this ones form and function beat out all the other choices.

The top of that Air Oil Separator has 2 baffles. One is perforated metal, and the second is "scrubble" that allows vapor to pass through, but catches the oil and contains it in the bottom reservoir.

There are filters in the upper part that separate oil from the incoming air/oil mist. The oil falls to the bottom tank leaving clean air to return to the intake track.

They hold about 8 ounces, but should be drained when it gets about 2/3 rds full.

Just a great design

So what oil do we use ?

Actually in ALL our cars we use Mobil 1

In this one specifically it's the 5W50

And once M o bil started to sell their premium oil filters it's a one stop shop

Antifreeze and its ratio, how important is it ?

Florida or hot areas will be best served with a 70/30 distilled water/antifreeze mixture.

You still want the lubrication of antifreeze so I wouldn't recommend less that 70/30.

The wrong mix, could lead to a huge loss of horsepower to solely blame on heat soak from coolant type and or mixture.

You could loose 100-200 HP  solely blamed on heat sink/soak from coolant type and or wrong mixture.

Ask us how we know....

In closing some add water wetter or some other magic elixir to enhance their cooling, we are not alchemists.

So we  just go with the 70/30 ratio and don't add anything else.

Did you know that HEAT SINK is not your friend

You will notice a huge change especially  when  maximum propulsion is used and into stop go traffic 110F summer.

240F CHT down to 220-215F and then some.

When the Reische 170 thermostat is already full open and temps still climbing, this made significant difference.

Doesnt matter what thermostat or if you take it completely out, larger intercooler, install a bigger radiator, bigger fan/fans if you cant get hot air out of engine bay then you are toast!

You need functional heat extractors like the ones on the hood Shelby American installed on the  2016 real GTHs.

They allow substantial ventilation in and out,  especially while sitting stopped in traffic.

Unlike the hood on the GTH Heritage (those other ones) Edition that has minimal extractors and that maybe a topic to explore at a later date, the extractors and the "HERITAGE EDITION"

The extractors on the 2016 GTH Cult Cars will help a million times better for air/heat extraction and prevent hood lift upon a sudden propulsion towards the gain in forward momentum.

Wondering if this is can be considered an Art or a Science ?

Maybe both....will you look at those scoops!
