So I was camped out with #10 67 gt350 today at a car show. Original owner car, great guy. We shared several stories of our cars and compared numerous differences! He being the alpha, #10 and me omega being #3119. He 'carefully' revealed his "special performance vehicle" door tag that showed the Ford VIN. very unusual, never seen one that was attatched. Usually they were placed loose in the glove box.
Also noticed his hood peak line faded halfway down his hood scoop, never seen that one either. I have seen over a hundred 67 Shelbys but this the first for both of these details.

Did you grab any pictures? Sounds like a real interesting car.

Would love to see that hood.

No,they were not usually placed loose in the glove box . Once they were pried off the door frame they were thought to be destroyed . On rare occasions they were left on the door. Some have been found loose under carpets or interior trim. If they are in/on the car it isn't typically on purpose.

Bob is right....
I've had a few 67s with door tags and they're quite rare....

I own # 11 and would love to see photos of #10 if you have any

Unfortunately my phone camera was DOA that day so I didn't get any of our cars together. But I did manage to find a few that I had taken from earlier shows.
#10 has all original panels. Trunk lid is steel frame, hood is fiberglass frame. No running lights. Smooth interior. (Orig interior)
He is very careful about who gets to see the door tag, for obvious reasons. I am not sure he would allow me to take a pic and post it. He did say most were pryed off. His looks pristine!

Thank you for posting the photos.

That's one of those early VIN tags, missing the interior trim letter. Neat, but troublesome to some DMV's
No running lights/USLs! Perhaps they were removed?
The registry notes a few of the door tag letters, of course no Ford VIN number.

OK, the missing USLs were puzzling at first, but it can be explained by the later SA completion date of 1/9/67.
Since the original owner states it never had them, it all fits together.

THANKS "6972Boss" this was all a big help for our USL research.

If you ever see the car again would you try to get a photo of the backside of the grille to see if it has 1 or 2 piece slant grille.
Also, I'd like to see if has the band clamps or plates for the front light supports. From the later SA build date it might go either way.

JD just reminded me to ask about the gas cap emblem. Flat or more common curved. Embossed or not.
I guess a photo of the rear would be a help too. Hopefully you'll see the car again.

Could the fiberglass hood be a replacement? We've heard that before.

... on the grille high-beam and the fender lo/hi beam bucket mounting.

Also, if it has the flat gas filler emblem (not convex or curved and not embossed)
