I am sure we will meet again. He attends many shows around here.
I asked about the hood, as it was puzzling me too. He said it was the original hood. When did the make the switch from steel to fiberglass inner structures?

Approximately #600 sporadically until about 1200 when the the change over was completely done. You can understand the skepticism given that range. The all fiberglass hood was the typical service replacement. Minor front end accidents are the most logical explanations for out of the ordinary hoods.

A good question for the owner could be when did he buy it?
Perhaps the hood was damaged and replaced before he bought it, thus the service part.
