See & Drive the New 1967 Shelby @ Riesmeyer Motor Co. Invite Brochure

Here's one you that is not seen too often.  It's a brochure inviting customers to see and drive the new 1967 Shelby on November 10, 1966 at their participating Shelby dealership.  This one is from Riesmeyer Motor Co. in Crestwood, MO.  I obtained this not too long ago and have seen only 3-4 of these over the years.  I knew of their existence but was never able to find one for a reasonable price.  The dealer's name is imprinted on the brochure and not stamped.  This particular dealership sold a total of 27 Shelbys.  It was designed to be folded down the center and undoubtedly many were mailed out.  Hopefully Vern and others will chime in with some additional info regarding this brochure.

I have one from ironically the same dealership.  I used to have one from Hi Performance Motors that I wish I had never sold.

I have two of those; JD Ball (FL) & Hi Performance Motors (CA). 

The '67 I had was from JD Ball and was one of the "Showing Cars" for the intro on Nov, 10, 1966 and was sold to the first owner on November 11, 1966.

I have a Universal Motor Inc example which is in extremely nice condition... ironically I found this thread while in the process of putting up a for sale ad on the ole Instagram and Facebook!

Just studied this a bit and realized it appears to have a flat gas cap!!

RR, Yes it was the GT500 Prototype V783-2... series of photos, the ones at the "horse ranch".  The image was modified for printing as the printed piece was a two-color job; black and spot red.

Flat gas emblem, Lucas upper scoop lights (with chrome trim and "flatter" red lens) and flat exhaust cutout trim rings on lower valance.

" The car was built at Ford's pilot plant in Allen Park, Michigan.

This is where other prototype production cars were constructed in the years-long process of turning a concept vehicle into a standard mass-produced car.

The car and its somewhat cumbersome identification of X763A-T-V-738- 2, was shortened to "V-738-2 "

Just A Car Guy: they sent a Shelby GT 500 to prison... at the end of the calendar year, to avoid taxes. It ended up in a junkyard, then saved and restored, but they had to figure out what it was to restore it correctly

I also found one of these invitations in the paperwork folder that came with my 66 GT-350.
   The 66 was sold at Mel Burns Ford but the invite is High Performance Motors Ca.  With the
invitation is a heavy bond paper specification sheet for 1967 with an artist rendering of the 1967 Shelby
GT-350 on one side, on the back are more specs. and a see thru view of the car.  This may have been
something he just picked up at the dealer showroom.
