Rear quarter interior vent grill

The decorative grill on the interior of my right rear quarter panel has come loose; it's rattling around is making me crazy. Any suggestions on how to get it to stay in place short of a drop of crazy glue? It looks like the little plastic pins that help to hold it in place are worn or warped or both. Thanks, steve

I suspect that the grill portion has been replaced in the panel with a nice fresh one during restoration. It is next to impossible to find a show worthy original that is not pitted to some degree.  On ones that people have replaced the epoxy or other adhesive used to hold it in place can come loose. Repro panels with grills in them can come loose too. You take a original and grind the rivets off so it can be replaced . Epoxy or other adhesive is used to secure the different grill. To do it properly you will have to take it off to get to the pins on the back side to re apply epoxy or other adhesive .    Assemblyline ones are riveted in place and typically don't ever come loose but that is not typically a option when they are restored.

Thanx Bob, This problem must've occurred under a previous ownership as an old piece of double stick tape had been used to secure this pesky grill. Thanks again, Steve.

I know of at least one '67 owner that ground the rivet heads off to separate the two parts but had a machine shop drill out the rivet remains and tap the hole and restored both parts and used threaded fasteners with some washers under the head of the bolt and some Loctite to reattach the grilles to the panel and reinstall assembled panel(s) in car.

Cheated with superglue yesterday. drove the car today and, as usual here in Houston, the roads were kind of rough. No rattle problem solved.... For the moment. Thanks, Steve.
