Quote from: Special Ed on January 13, 2025, 08:48:27 AMIf a guy has a good car he is usually around the car representing it and answering ?s but many cars have nobody around them so how are u supposed to get any info about the car and the write ups on these cars dont tell u much about the cars history anymore as the auction companys often write up the info the way they want and back years ago the seller wrote up the info.

+1, it's surprising how few owners or representatives are around cars at these big auctions to talk to interested bidders.  Last car I sold at B-J, I got there early in the week.  Spent a while talking to one guy, who ended up buying it.

For the life of me I can't fathom why anyone would put their car up for "no reserve". Seems like all the NR cars went too cheap. If the buyers aren't there, you're screwed.

This 70 Shelby sold on Friday....wondering if anyone has seen this car or knows anything about it.  Was bought by a dealer who wants to turn it around and have someone interested in purchasing it before it leaves Florida.  From the photos and video Im seeing in the listing looks like a driver.  No underside photos which always are great to see.

Marcus,

it sold last year at same auction......I casually looked it over last year and seemed like a nice car.....came from the Northwest Shelby Collection whoever that is....he sold several Shelby's last year all restored cars....to what level I am not an expert

This dealer got an excellent buy in my opinion.......have no clue on drivability..

Heck I would have bought it if I was there when it sold...

I will be there Jan 16-19.......holler if you need

When rare collector cars sell under market value its best to do an inspection and reseach past history.

65cobra

I crawled under most of the 65-70 Shelby's yesterday.  All in all they were good I only saw rust holes on one rear quarter drop.
Yes they ranged from rotisserie restored to spray bombed originals, to older restorations, some with lots of gooped on undercoat that I am sure is covering repairs.  Some of them were beat up underneath but not rusty.  All the engines looked good though lol, definitely evidence of a pressure wash, new valve cover gaskets and a rattle can job.   When we all know it's the intakes that are leaking...

Divorce, the threat of divorce, age related illnesses, lost interest in the car, job loss, overwhelming medical bills, a so-called significant other pressuring you to sell.  Offspring going to school...many reasons.

Small block eight so live she feels

Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past

2.  69-70  shelby fastbacks sold for more than any of the 69-70 verts just dont make sense.

Coralsnake

The auctions have never made sense. A lot of amateurs with disposable income changing the dynamics

How can a 65 shelby be worth more than a 289 cobra or in the same price range ?
