Would have been cool to announce on 1/27/25, which would have been the 60th anniversary of the GT350 at Riverside on the same date in 1965.  I guess announcing on a Monday wouldn't be as interesting

That's a valid point.  It would not surprise me, however, that the date might be lost to them, fallen through the sands of time.  Or they don't care.

+1, from the SA perspective, it's free advertising, live TV coverage and a car enthusiast audience.  Anything else would have been big $$ out of pocket for them and likely not have been as far reaching.
